Rockpool Pavilion was born from a simple idea - that dining should feel like an occasion. Perched on The Strand with the Coral Sea stretching out before you and Magnetic Island shimmering on the horizon, we set out to create a place where great food, warm hospitality, and one of Australia's most beautiful waterfront settings come together.
Our Story
Townsville has always been a city that lives by the water. The Strand is its heartbeat - a place where locals gather, visitors linger, and the rhythm of the Coral Sea sets the pace. Rockpool Pavilion was built to honour that spirit.
We opened our doors with a clear vision: to be the waterfront dining destination that Townsville deserved. A place where the food is as beautiful as the view, where the coffee is worth waking up for, and where every guest whether they're celebrating a milestone or simply enjoying a Sunday mornings feels genuinely welcome.
Our menu draws on the incredible produce of North Queensland fresh local barramundi, tropical fruits, and the flavours of a region that's as diverse as it is delicious. We've woven in the warmth of Filipino hospitality through our Filo Favourites breakfast section, a nod to the rich cultural tapestry that makes Townsville so special.
